Job Full Description Chemical Plant Operator - Safety-Sensitive Position Pay: $24.00-$27.00/hour
Schedule: Rotating shifts - 5:00 AM-1:00 PM | 1:00 PM-9:00 PM | 9:00 PM-5:00 AM
Location: Hot Springs, AR
Full-Time Position Express Employment Professionals is currently interviewing candidates for a
Chemical Plant Operator position with a local company in Hot Springs.
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring candidates who are dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an active plant environment.
Schedule This position follows a
weekly rotating schedule :
- 5:00 AM-1:00 PM
- 1:00 PM-9:00 PM
- 9:00 PM-5:00 AM
The
1:00 PM-9:00 PM shift will also work an additional 8-hour night shift on Saturday or Sunday approximately once every 5 weeks, on average. The frequency may vary depending on operational needs.
What You'll Do - Operate and monitor plant equipment, controls, and instrumentation
- Follow established operating procedures and safety protocols
- Monitor flow meters and process controls
- Assist with loading and unloading tankers
- Perform material handling duties
- Package products and assist with sample collection
- Participate in daily plant housekeeping
- Provide general plant support and assist with various operational tasks
- Learn and apply basic pump technology, process controls, instrumentation, and chemistry
- Think critically and respond appropriately to changing conditions
- Work safely while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
What We're Looking For - High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions and established procedures
- Basic math skills
- Ability to effectively use controls and instrumentation
- Quick-thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to learn new processes and technology
- Comfortable working outdoors and in an industrial environment
- Comfortable wearing required PPE
- Ability to remain active and moving throughout the workday
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a background check
Preferred Experience & Skills - Forklift certification or forklift experience
- Machine operating experience
- OSHA-compliant HAZWOPER training
- Understanding of pump technology
- Basic knowledge of process controls and instrumentation
- Understanding of process flow and distillation
- Basic knowledge of chemistry
- Understanding of mass and energy balance

Work Environment - Approximately 70% of the work is performed outdoors
