Family Driver / Personal Assistant • Manhattan

We are a Manhattan family seeking a dependable, experienced driver to help with daily school transportation for our  2 middle schoolers. We’re looking for someone calm, punctual, safety-conscious, and comfortable working with children.

The main responsibility is getting our children to and from school safely and reliably. There may also be an opportunity for additional paid hours assisting a private medical practice with errands and transportation.

Schedule

Monday through Friday on school days:

• Morning pickup at 7:30 a.m. on the Upper West Side, with drop-off near West 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue.
• Afternoon pickups at approximately 3:30 p.m.,  4:30 p.m. and sometimes 5:30 returning the children to the Upper West Side.
• Some afternoons require two separate trips; others require only one when dismissal times align.
• Time between the morning and afternoon runs is your own unless additional paid duties have been scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive transportation and arrive on time.
• Follow agreed school pickup and drop-off procedures.
• Ensure children are properly secured with appropriate seat belts or booster seats.
• Communicate promptly about arrivals, delays, and schedule changes.
• Keep the vehicle clean and comfortable.
• Respect the family’s privacy and maintain a professional, friendly manner.

Optional Additional Work

For someone interested in more hours, duties may include local errands, supply pickups, deliveries, and occasional scheduled airport transportation for patients of a private medical practice. Additional assignments must fit around the school schedule and will be agreed upon in advance.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a strong, verifiable safe driving record.
• Experience driving in Manhattan.
• Previous experience as a family driver, chauffeur, or in another role involving children.
• Excellent reliability, communication, and judgment.
• Professional references.
• Willingness to complete appropriate driving-record and background screening.
