Supervisory Physical Security Specialist

As a Supervisory Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-14, your typical work assignments may include the following:

1. Performs a full range of first-level supervisory responsibilities which involves assigning work to staff based on priorities, developing performance standards and evaluating work performance of staff.
2. Oversees the day-to-day administration of a classified information management program used in the protection of classified or sensitive information, facilities, installations, or other sensitive materials and resources.
3. Conducts comprehensive surveys and analyses of operational functions to determine what identified information needs to be protected; identifying and assessing the degrees of vulnerability, and developing appropriate countermeasures to provide protection against compromise.
4. Developes, implements, and monitors policies, instructions, procedures, control systems, and methods for information security function and activities such as physical storage and control and security education.
5. Serves as the technical expert for construction, design, development, and evaluation, protective systems and devices to ensure that sensitive or classified information, equipment, and other materials are not compromised.
