Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Allied Health Specialty: CT Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5x8.0 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years of CT experience License: NYS Radiologic Technology license required prior to starting Certifications: ARRT certification required, BLS certification required Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma Center experience Description: Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan. Strictly adhere to department policy and procedures for patient safety. Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging. Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable. Insert IVs when necessary for the test. Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility. Utilize safe patient handling techniques. Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components. Identify images and assure images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion. Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. A patient and compassionate disposition is necessary. Must be a team player who can maintain a cohesive working environment. Injection certification is preferred and must be willing to complete during the orientation process. Knowledge of imaging equipment is preferred.
