This role involves performing diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients in a high-volume hospital environment. Key Responsibilities of the Echo Tech - Interventional Radiology

• Perform technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams
• Coordinate with hospital departments for exam scheduling and patient transport
• Assist cardiologist during dictations and contribute pertinent diagnostic information
• Manage and distribute dictations promptly
• Respond to patient needs and report condition changes
• Maintain Echo room cleanliness and inventory
• Participate in departmental quality improvement activities
• Cover on-call duties for emergency echo exams
• Maintain equipment quality control and coordinate repairs
• Pursue advanced echocardiography knowledge and techniques
• Assist with additional cardiac procedures as necessary

Requirements of the Echo Tech - Interventional Radiology

• A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation
• New Mexico Echo Sonographer License
• BLS certification issued through American Heart Association
• High school diploma or equivalent; related two-year allied health education program preferred
• Two years of experience performing echocardiograms preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and under stress
• Manual dexterity for echocardiogram performance
